Laura Romaine is a painter who builds satirical realms that exploit art history and cultural truths. Based in Brooklyn, she primarily works with oil and acrylic. Her inimitable figures exude a carnal playfulness. The allures of childlike imagery are transformed into absurdist scenes that revel in the tactile splendor of painting. Laura earned her BFA from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida in 2005, and received her MFA in 2022 from the New York Academy of Art in Tribeca, New York, where she completed a year-long fellowship program in 2024.
